Research on Indigenous Wellbeing and Cultural Revitalisation of Guarani Communities (SC, Brazil)

In this exciting project, Coastal Connections participated in the creation of cultural-specific research methods. Throughout the research we engaged in participant observation and cultural immersion to gain a greater contextual understanding of the Guarani community wellbeing. We used existing decolonising and participatory research methods, unstructured interviews and facilitated participatory workshops with the Guarani people. The community engagement and research resulted in the development of research methodology that included 'petyngua circles' and story-telling interviews.
